SECTION OF N17 BETWEEN SPRINGS AND KINROSS STARTS OPERATING AS TOLL ROAD

A new on and off-ramp at the N12 / N17 Elands Interchange will open to driving public onRamp C (N17 Westbound to  N12 Southbound as indicated in the attached map) on Wednesday, 14 December 2011, the South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) announced today. The new on and off-rampswill improve traffic flow at the new N12/N17 interchange. It is also a major step in the improvement of the traffic capacityto and from Springs, which is being implemented as part of SANRAL’s Gauteng Freeway Improvement Project (GFIP).New direct links that did not previously exist between the N17 and the N12 have been created through the newly constructed Loop A and Ramp C.This on-ramp opening will also enable westbound traffic on the N17 to travel onto the southbound carriageway to Kimberly and Vereeniging.
