AVIATION AMENDMENT ACT NO. 4 OF 1982 [ASSENTED TO 16 FEBRUARY, 1982][DATE OF COMMENCEMENT: 3 MARCH, 1982] (Afrikaans text signed by the State President) ACT To amend the Aviation Act, 1962, so as to substitute certain obsolete words and expressions; and to empower the Minister of Transport Affairs to make regulations relating to the requirements to be observed and the steps to be taken in connection with the conveyance in aircraft of certain animals and fish; and to provide for matters connected therewith. 1. Amends section 1 of the Aviation Act, No. 74 of 1962, as follows:—paragraph (a) deletes the definition of “intoxicating liquor”; and paragraph (b) inserts the definition of “liquor”. 2. Amends section 2 (3) of the Aviation Act, No. 74 of 1962, by substituting the words “South African Defence Force” for the words “Department of Defence”. 3. Amends section 6bis of the Aviation Act, No. 74 of 1962, as follows:—paragraph (a) substitutes subsection (1); paragraph (b) substitutes subsection (4); paragraph (c) substitutes subsection (5); and paragraph (d) substitutes in subsection (6) the word “liquor” for the words “intoxicating liquor”. 4. Amends section 9 (a) of the Aviation Act, No. 74 of 1962, by substituting the words “ninety-five metres” for the words “three hundred feet”. 5. Amends section 10 of the Aviation Act, No. 74 of 1962, by substituting the expression “Chapter X of the Mining Rights Act, 1967 (Act No. 20 of 1967)” for the expression “Chapter IX of the Precious and Base Metals Act, 1908 (Act No. 35 of 1908, Transvaal).” 6. Amends section 21 (2) of the Aviation Act, No. 74 of 1962, by substituting the words “State Revenue Fund” for the words “Consolidated Revenue Fund”. 7. Amends section 22 (1) of the Aviation Act, No. 74 of 1962, as follows:—paragraph (a) substitutes in paragraph (e) (vi)bis the word “liquor” for the words “intoxicating liquor”; and paragraph (b) deletes the word “and” at the end of paragraph (y) and adds paragraph (z). 8. Short title.—This Act shall be called the Aviation Amendment Act, 1982.
