CIVIL AVIATION OFFENCES AMENDMENT ACT NO. 4 OF 1981 [ASSENTED TO 4 FEBRUARY, 1981][DATE OF COMMENCEMENT: 16 MARCH, 1981] (English text signed by the State President) ACT To amend the Civil Aviation Offences Act, 1972, so as to authorize the Minister to make regulations relating to the appointment of a committee to advise the Minister and interested persons as to the safety of civil aviation; the drawing- up and application of safety plans; the persons who shall be responsible for the application of safety measures at certain airports and in respect of certain flights made with aircraft; the administrative steps which shall precede the designation of aerodromes and heliports as airports; the part of certain expenses which shall be met by the State, and the duty of airport managements and air carriers to render available particular equipment and to employ certain persons for certain purposes; and to substitute a certain expression; and to provide for incidental matters. 1. Amends section 1 of the Civil Aviation Offences Act, No. 10 of 1972, by substituting the definition of “Minister”. 2. Amends section 2L of the Civil Aviation Offences Act, No. 10 of 1972, as follows:—paragraph (a) substitutes subsection (1) (a) to (1) (f) inclusive; and paragraph (b) substitutes subsection (2). 3. Substitutes section 2M of the Civil Aviation Offences Act, No. 10 of 1972. 4. Short title and commencement.—This Act shall be called the Civil Aviation Offences Amendment Act, 1981, and shall come into operation on a date fixed by the State President by proclamation in the Gazette.
