TRANSPORT SERVICES FOR COLOURED PERSONS AND INDIANS AMENDMENT ACT NO. 77 OF 1982 [ASSENTED TO 1 JUNE, 1982][DATE OF COMMENCEMENT: 31 OCTOBER, 1982] (English text signed by the State President) ACT To amend the Transport Services for Coloured Persons and Indians Act, 1972, so as to substitute certain definitions and expressions; to make further provision regarding the powers of the Minister to determine the scale of contributions; to make the provisions of the Act applicable in respect of domestic servants; to delete references to the Senate; and to provide that the Minister may enter into an agreement with any state or territory; and to provide for matters connected therewith. 1. Amends section 1 of the Transport Services for Coloured Persons and Indians Act, No. 27 of 1972, by substituting the definition of “Minister”. 2. Amends section 3 of the Transport Services for Coloured Persons and Indians Act, No. 27 of 1972, as follows:— paragraph (a) substitutes subsection (1); and paragraph (b) deletes subsection (3). 3. Amends section 7 (1) of the Transport Services for Coloured Persons and Indians Act, No. 27 of 1972, by deleting the words “Controller and”. 4. Amends section 9 of the Transport Services for Coloured Persons and Indians Act, No. 27 of 1972, by substituting subsection (2). 5. Substitution of words “Secretary for Transport” in Act 27 of 1972.—The principal Act is hereby amended by the substitution for the words “Secretary for Transport”, wherever they occur, of the words “Director-General: Transport”. 6. Short title and commencement.—This Act shall be called the Transport Services for Coloured Persons and Indians Amendment Act, 1982, and shall come into operation on a date fixed by the State President by proclamation in the Gazette.
