NATIONAL ROADS AMENDMENT ACT

ACT

To amend the National Roads Act, 1971, in order to amend the 
definition of “urban area”; and to abolish certain limitations on 
the powers of the National Tranport Commission regarding 
water works on or over, or below the surface of, a national road 
or land in a building restriction area; and to provide for matters 
connected therewith.

1.   Amends section 1 of the National Roads Act, No. 54 of 
1971, by substituting paragraph (a) of the definition of “urban 
area”.

2.   Amends section 13 (2) of the National Roads Act, No. 54 of 
1971, by deleting paragraph (c).

3.   Short title.—This Act shall be called the National Roads 
Amendment Act, 1982.
