TRANSPORT ADVISORY COUNCIL ABOLITION ACT

ACT

To provide for the abolition of the Transport Advisory Council; 
and for matters connected therewith.

1.   Abolition of Transport Advisory Council.—The Transport 
Advisory Council established by section 2 of the Transport 
Advisory Council Act, 1987 (Act No. 58 of 1987), is hereby 
abolished.

2.   Repeal of laws.—The Transport Advisory Council Act, 
1987 (Act No. 58 of 1987), sections 37 and 38 of the Transnet 
Limited Amendment Act, 1991 (Act No. 52 of 1991), and 
sections 16 to 25 of the Transport General Amendment Act, 
1992 (Act No. 86 of 1992), are hereby repealed.

3.   Short title and commencement.—This Act shall be called 
the Transport Advisory Council Abolition Act, 1996, and shall 
deemed to have come into operation on 1 April 1995.
