The National Department of Transport consulted all provincial MEC’s of Transport and it was agreed that the deadline for converting existing licences to credit card format should not be extended beyond February 28, 2003. A notice to that effect will be published in the Government Gazette on 24 January 2003.

Thus, the 28 February 2003 is the last date for the conversion or application for conversion of driving licences. Driving licences that shall have not been converted to the CCF driving licences will not be considered valid on 01 March 2003.
