What will happen if I fail to convert my licence within my allocated period?

A
You will have to pay an increased manufacturing cost of R5-00 per month for every month of late application.

Will my licence be cancelled?
A
No driving licences will be cancelled. After five years old ID book and paper card licences will be declared as invalid documents, but the drivers, driving licence will remain valid.

Do I have to undergo a road test during conversion to the new format licence?
A
No!!!!!!!!! we will only conduct an eye test.


Q
Will my licence be withdrawn if I fail the eye test?
A
No, you will be referred to an optometrist for corrective procedure, i.e. surgery, glasses or contact lenses. The driver will be retested and if the driver pass the eye test the CCF licence will be issued.

Can I apply for the new CCF licence from overseas?
A
No, due to fingerprinting and eye tests application can only be facilitated in South Africa, but the increased manufacturing fee will not be applicable if the person can provide proof of his stay overseas.

What is the cost involved?
A
Between R100.00 and R168-00 depending on the Province.

What must I bring with?
A
The applicant must bring the application fee R100-00 - R168-00, two photographs (driving licence photographs 40mm * 32mm) and the driver's identity document containing his/her driving licence.
