It has 585 train stations and total fleet of 4 735 coaches, with an overall staff complement of 18 207.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\">Goverment is spending in the region of R51 billion on New Rolling Stock and R4 billion on new Hybrid Locomotives in the next 5 years period. To date PRASA has taken delivery on thirteen (13) of the 70 new locomotives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\">In 2014\/15, Government through PRASA transported 2 million passengers and covered fifty five million (55m) passenger trips. The focus is also on the implementation of integrated passenger rail services planned through the lowest competent sphere of government.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card  sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=#collapse10663 href=\"javascript:void(0)\"  aria-expanded=\"false\"><i class=\"ea-expand-icon fa fa-plus\"><\/i> Rail Announcement<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse10663\" data-parent=#sp-ea-1066><div class=\"ea-body\"><p>The Department has produced a\u00a0<strong>White Paper on National Rail Policy<\/strong>\u00a0for comments and inputs.
