{"id":2886,"date":"2025-04-14T14:50:15","date_gmt":"2025-04-14T12:50:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.transport.gov.za\/?p=2886"},"modified":"2025-04-14T14:57:39","modified_gmt":"2025-04-14T12:57:39","slug":"transport-ministry-leads-easter-road-safety-operation-in-gqeberha-eastern-cape","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.transport.gov.za\/?p=2886","title":{"rendered":"Transport Ministry Leads Easter Road Safety Operation in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Sunday, 13 April 2025, Minister of Transport Barbara Creecy and Deputy Minister Mkhuleko Hlengwa led a large-scale road safety and law enforcement operation in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, ahead of the busy Easter weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The operation, held on the N2 King Neptune, brought together national, provincial, and metro traffic police along with the South African Police Service and various road safety entities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event formed part of the Easter Period Road Safety Campaign, which Minister Creecy launched on 20 March 2025 in Pretoria. Operating under the theme \u201cIt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Begins With Me,\u201d the campaign aimed to reduce road fatalities during the high-traffic holiday period through integrated law enforcement and public education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stakeholders included interfaith groups, local government departments, and community-based organizations working collaboratively to promote safe road
