Transport Appeal Tribunal (TAT)

Transport Appeal Tribunal (TAT) is a creature of statute established in terms of the Transport Appeal Tribunal Act, No. 39 of 1998.

The TAT's judicial mandate is to hear noted appeals emanating from the decisions made by the Provincial Regulatory Entities (PRE's), Cross-Border Road Transport Agency (C-BRTA) / Regulatory Committee, National Public Transport Regulator (NPTR) and Municipal Regulatory Entities (MRE's) respectively.

The TAT's vision is to promote stability in the public transport sector by pronouncing or deciding on noted appeals by the public transport operators for a regulated public transport system.
