Rhe Deputy Minister of Transport, Mr. Mkhuleko Hlengwa together with the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) marked the United Nations World Day of Remembrance in memory and honour of victims of road crashes across the globe.
The international day, commemorated on the third Sunday of November annually in line with the United Nations marks the remembrance of all the people who died as a result of road crashes.
Deputy Minister Hlengwa also used the day to observe a moment of remembrance for 69 South African traffic officers who died in the line duty and will mark this through a wreath laying ceremony.MECs responsible for transport in all provinces as well as family members and other law enforcement officers across the provinces attended this solemn occasion.
