The Deputy Minister of Transport, Mr Mkhuleko Hlengwa took the Back to School Shova Kalula
Mobility programme to Vumandaba High School in KwaZulu-Natal on Monday, 17 February 2024.
The Deputy Minister handed over more than 450 bicycles to 10 schools in the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality.
The initiative offers the National Department of Transport an opportunity to expand access to scholar transport for disadvantaged school pupils.The Shova Kalula National Bicycle project has improved mobility for school pupils in remote and rural areas since 2001.
