On Monday, 05 February 2024, the Deputy Minister of Transport led a clean-up and AARTO awareness campaign at Du Noon, Cape Town. The primary focus of the Taxi Rank Clean Up initiative at the Dunoon Taxi precinct, led by Transport Deputy Minister Mr. Lisa Mangcu, was to address the concerns raised by local community members. These concerns include the condition of impounded minibus taxis in the province, the long working hours of taxi drivers, and the overall lack of adherence to road traffic regulations within the industry. Deputy Minister Mangcu also took the opportunity to educate and increase awareness about the upcoming AARTO rollout plan.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) accompanied the Deputy Minister. There were also exhibitors from the Road Accident Fund (RAF), Road Traffic Infringement Authority (RTIA), and the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA).
