The Deputy Minister of Transport, Mr. Mkhuleko Hlengwa, conducted an oversight visit to the
Leeto La Polokwane Integrated Public Transport Network (IPTN) on Monday, 20 October
2025.
The visit underscores the government’s commitment to investing in modern, efficient, and
integrated public transport systems for South Africans. Deputy Minister Hlengwa will get a
first-hand look at the city’s progress, assessing key facilities including the Control Centre,
amongst others.



The programme will included high-level engagements with the Executive Mayor of
Polokwane, Cllr Mosema John Mpe, municipal leadership, and crucial stakeholder sessions
with public transport operators. This was followed by a media briefing to allow the Deputy
Minister and the Executive Mayor to address the public on the project’s advancements and
future plans.
This visit aims to strengthen collaboration between national and local government,
showcasing a shared commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and affordable mobility
solutions for the residents of Polokwane and the broader Limpopo region.x
